Brown calls it quits

The man that won the hearts of so many Patriots fans is calling it a career.

Troy Brown announced his retirement after 15 seasons with the Patriots record in receptions. Brown had a break out season in 2001 when he became Tom Brady's safe receiver and we all remember the punt return for a touchdown in the 2001 AFC championship game against the Steelers. Brown had many exciting plays as a Patriot in his 15 seasons with the team, He was a part of 5 trips to the Super Bowl for the Patriots and played a major role in the teams first title in 2001.

A possible hall of famer, Brown was a leader on the field and always could come up with the big plays when the team needed him.

I hear you on that one, but he was a great player. Very versatile. He is the greatest Patriot receiver of all-time since the Pats haven't had all that many "great" receivers (excluding Randy Moss because he will always be a Viking in my book, and he is only in his second year with the Pats). I'm glad he will no longer be able to burn the Steelers.

He's not even in the Patriots "Hall of Fame"...

He should already be enshrined in the Patriots Hall of Fame, but no way he gets into the real Hall of Fame. Even if you're not a Pats fan, I can't imagine anybody not respecting him. He played hard and was football's version of scrappy.
