AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

Breaking News: Pacman Jones is a Cowboy

Pacman Jones finds a new home in Big D.  Troubled defensive back Adam "Pacman" Jones may be shipping out to Dallas come the start of the 08/09 season.  According to Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com the Cowboys and the Titans have reached a deal to trade Pacman.

As it stands, the Cowboys will give up a fourth round draft pick in this years draft for the rights to Pacman.  If he is reinstated by the NFL and plays all of the upcoming season, Dallas will send a 6th-round pick to Tennessee in 2009.  However, if Jones is not reinstated, or fails to play in the upcoming season, then Tennessee owes Dallas a 4th-round pick in the 09 draft.

Someone give me a big barf bag. Jerry Jones strikes again. The most ego-statisical attention-grabber owner in the NFL today is going through withdrawal as the spotlight shifted from the Tony Romo-Jessica Simpson showmance to the New York Giants' Super Bowl triumph and he cannot stand it out of jealousy. Boo hoo friggin' HOO! "OOOOH! Let's see, let's go get Pacman Jones and everyone in the football world will be talking about the Dallas Cowboys again! Yeah, that's it... it's bound to work! Now we got one self-centered bad boy prima donna in Terrell Owens on my team, now we've got Pacman Jones. What a tandem! YEAH!" - Jerry Jones

You think this is about getting attention? Say what you want about JJ, but all the man cares about is winning. This move is about a low-risk opportunity to vastly improve a team weakness.

I don't mean to sound malicious, but if Jerry Jones simply stopped looking to put his mug in front of the camera EVERY friggin' game like another Dallas sports owner in Mark Cuban, I wouldn't feel the way I do. I do agree with you that he's making this move as it's a low risk one.

im with TT on this one. That was a great move. I Jones works out it cost a 4th and a 6th rounder and you get a DB and a returnman that when he is playing is a Pro-Bowler. I it doesnt work it doesnt cost a thing with a 4th rounder coming back next season. I love it great moe JJ

Okay JJ is the original Dallas owner. Cuban was just starting out when Jones was winning Super Bowls. Is he cocky? Damn right about it. He brought in TO and it worked out great to this point. He brought in Tank and its worked. Sometimes you hae to bring in risky players to make things work. Jones is better than any DB available on Saturday

Yeah thats an overstatment. Jones isnt nearly as bad as George, and Jerry's played the game and won.

Really? Other than his love affair with Billy Martin, George overall has been pretty benign. I certainly don't remember him trading for a convict.

According to wikipedia, Steinbrenner himself is something of a criminal: he was indicted on 14 criminal counts on April 5, 1974, then pleaded guilty to making illegal contributions to Nixon's re-election campaign and obstruction of justice. Reagan pardoned him. I don't think Jones was ever indicted, was he?

Sure, BigP, whatever. Giambi shot himself up with a needle, not a nightclub with .45. And Chan Gailey wasn't exactly sober half the time either.

indictment + pardon = no crime. So tell me, SJ, how is it Pacman is suspended?

Baseball and football apparently have different standards. I'm not sure I understand the question. Pacman is suspended because Roger Goodell suspended him.

Why, because he felt like it?

Because he saw Pacman's action as a threat to the leagues popularity and wholesome image. Listen I'm not here to say that Pacman is a saint or anything like that. But bottomline is the boy can play, and i youre a balla youre gonna play. I dallas didnt get him someone else would have

I could care less about Pacman. I know he can play, no doubt there, but the guy has issues and everyone knows it. Except Jerry, that's the point. He doesn't respect the league.

Much as I dont like Pacman, he has every right to continue playing. Jones signing him does not disrespect the league any less than Horning gambling on games in the 60's Belichek cheating in the 2008, or any other number o crazy things.

You're right there, P. Its more a Tennessee getting rid of him than a Cowboys getting him. Opportunity knocked, and Jerry answered the door.

Honestly thats the way I look at it. A Pro-Bowl DB goes on the market and he wont cost you a thing? You have to jump on that.

Who cares what they rest o the league thinks, they need to be worried about running their own teams. And when it works (maybe) then Jerry is the trade genius again. Honestly, Jerry doesnt care what the league owners think about him, and it's not his responsiblity to worry about them. He is running a business and his business is the Dallas Cowboys.

you dont get that cocky overnight. He has always been that way. He knows what he can do and he is proud o it, nothing wrong with that at all. When Brett did it we just called it entertaining.

Tony Romo and JJ significantly raised the cost of no-playoff-win QBs. But seriously, good move by the Cryboys if you ask me. The TO experiment worked. why not this?
