Breaking News: Brady on Pats Injury Report!

Tom Brady will be playing Super Bowl XLII in regular shoes... hopefully he doesn't need a shoulder boot.
Tom Brady will be playing Super Bowl XLII in regular shoes... hopefully he doesn't need a shoulder boot.

Phoenix , AZ -- As if a boot and a limp weren’t enough, Tom Brady has now found his way onto the New England injury report for Super Bowl XLII.

The worst part is that Coach Belichick listed Brady as probable with a shoulder injury, as if the ankle sprain wasn’t enough. Perhaps Plaxico Burress really did know something after all…

Judging by past history on the injury report, Tom Brady has fought through recurrent shoulder injuries before, but now he’ll really need to suck it up and endure this nagging injury for the big game. It will truly take a warrior’s effort for Tom to get on the field being so banged up, but the Giants probably don’t need to start simulating Matt Cassel in practice until more information on this shoulder problem is released.

You see, it's now 11:40 at night and I need to finish a paper for school tomorrow (not that I really care that much, cuz I'm a second semester senior and we don't work). So I don't want to go to bed without it done, because then I'd have to BS something in a hurry tomorrow morning. Therefore, while procrastinating, I got a little idea for an article, and it probably does suck, but it was way better to write this, than to write my paper on the string theory (like I give a shit).

Brady's shoulder has been acting up since week 2 or 3 (I think). Anyway, back in the old days, teams had to annouce their injuries on Wednesday. Now it's Friday, so maybe it's a way for the Pats to lull the G-men into a false sense of security. Bear Bryant did that as well. He would poormouth his Alabama team during the week and before an opponent knew it, they were down 20 points.

It's really just Belichick's way of showing how easy it is to not play by the rules and give NOTHING away on the injury report. At this point not even the idiots in the media really believe that Brady has an actual injury to his shoulder.

That's sorta the point. IIRC, 3 or 4 years ago an opponent listed many of their stars as injured -- when they had every intention of playing -- just to screw with Belichick. So ever since, he's listed Brady as being injured.

OK, here's a scenario for you: Tom Brady does not play in the Super Bowl. Matt Cassel starts and throws four touchdown passes to win it. A) Does Tom Brady's stock as the "best quarterback of all time" drop or B) do Patriot fans begin heralding their quarterbacks as the new Montana/Young combo?

If Tom Brady was hurt and didn't play in the Super Bowl yet the Pats still won... Well if I WAS Tom Brady I would move to another team to prove that I am a god and that the reason I am so good isn't because I played with amazing receivers and the best offensive line ever created in the NFL. Maybe Tom would like it in Chicago?

Damn, I just agreed with something you just wrote Tyrone Briggs. The injury list is stupid. What's the point with it? Why would the opposing team inform the other team of who and where the players injuries are? That's just plan dumb. If I was a coach I would put every starting player on it with left testicular sprain/strains.

Does anyone else think the whole ankle thing was a ruse? That Brady just wore a cast when it was really not that injured, and that it was just BB and Brady mind facking the media?

this is just one of the many reasons to think that BB has no class and seriously lacks social skills, although he is a fine coach. That being said, I don't think it would hurt him all that much to try and communicate with the media and public a little. Bonds, Parcells and Urlacher have all gotten there fair share of crap from the media and public for not playing along, but when BB does it its witty and his way of showing "how easy it is to not play by the rules and give NOTHING away on the injury report." Cute.

Did Wade Philips have no class when he kept it a secret whether TO would start? How about Tom Coughlin in week 17 not saying if he would rest players or not? Or how about EVERY SINGLE NHL coach in the Stanley Cup playoffs? How come when Belichick does it it's because he's classless. And when other coaches do it, they're crafty?

Perhaps read the whole statement next time. "ONE OF THE MANY REASONS." You see, that alone would be fine, but it is just another in a long list of BB thinking he has no obligation to follow any sort of social rules or protocol. If he wants to be a dick fine, but don't say he's being picked on. He seems to avoid any sort of traditional human interaction whenever possible. Maybe lack of class is the wrong way to put it, but like I have said before he comes off as a smug prick most of the time. It's not his job to be liked, but it is his job to fill out injury reports and do press confrences where he is expected to be mildly open and truthfull. As we have seen this year, he can be neither. Guess what, not being truthfull on the injury report is...thats right, CHEATING. But hey it's ok, its just a little cheating and other coaches do it. How many times does BB get to flip the proverbial bird at the NFL fans before someone can call him an jerkoff and you don't come running with all of your blind love to defend him.

Blind love? What about your blind hate? Calling him classless, a jerkoff, and a prick because he doesn't say anything that the media would be able to twist or skew is ridiculous.

Have you ever listened to an NFL press conference? The questions asked are typically stupid, and/or very basic. Somebody asks what he thought of Brady's performance, so he'll say that Brady had a good game. What else would you have him say?

I remember after losing to the Colts a few years ago, somebody asked him why he tried an onside kick in the 2nd quarter. "Because we wanted to get the ball back" was his answer. How is stuff like that dishonest or inappropriate? It may come off as rude, but the question was so stupid, and so simple, so why not give a simple answer?

And when someone asks him about the other team's players, he only has nice things to say. Yeah, what an asshole.

Belichick's injury reports aren't some attempt to say "F you" to football fans. It's his demonstrating that coach's lie on the reports, thereby making them useless. I remember when the Pats played the Falcons and Vick was listed as probable in order to boost day of game ticket sales, even though the Falcons knew he wouldn't play.

If Belichick really wanted to screw with the fans and other teams, he'd list players other than Brady, and he'd list them as something other than probable.

I hope your high wrist sprain never heals and you never drink a nice cold beer again :) You can also get like 2 foot straws at certain party stores. Just get the wife to keep brining you new beers, set them down next to you on a table, insert straw and you never have to pick up that beer again. Hope that helps.

Bill Belichick thumbs his nose at an NFL edict that requires him to disclose the injury status of his players. Obviously he doesn't think very highly of this rule.

On Sunday we'll all see what he and his team think is important.

For me it's a running joke that Brady's probable for his next game. Maybe on day it will be true.
