Better Than Sexson...

Is just about anyone.
The fantastic broadcasting duo of Suzyn Waldman and John Sterling just were outraged at the fact that the Seattle Mariners plan to release Richie Sexson.
News Flash: Sexson blows goats. I have proof.
Sexson’s stay in Seattle has been memorable for all the wrong reasons. After putting up a very good OPS of .912 in 2005, his numbers have been slowing declining into what can only be defined as a pile of mush. He’s now a 6′7 pile of crap.
So, he’s now a 33 year-old first baseman (and I use that term loosely) with a .294 OBP and a .674 OPS. Who the hell wants that on their team?
This is a growing phenomenon in the league. In baseball, there seems to be the conception that as soon as someone has a single good season that they are good for the rest of their careers. Sexson is a great example of this because his stats show the fact that he has barely any value anymore. However, here are two of the highest paid radio broadcasters misleading the american baseball public into thinking that Richie Sexson is of any value.
He’s not. He’ll clear waivers and someone will pay him the veteran’s minimum to DH, and he’ll be bad at that too.
