AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

Better Late Than Never, It's Walker's Rants

With all the excitement from them NFL Combine Walker’s Rants got pushed back a little bit, but don’t worry little ones, an extra day in prep only means, that this edition is ready to spit like hot fire.  Walker’s Rants are a go.

Donovan McNabb should not give the Philadelphia Eagles an ultimatum. He should just leave Philly.  The Eagles don’t care about him why should he care about the Eagles?

It’s great that Tiger is coming back to play golf, but seriously, talk about overkill on a mundane story…

So the Washington Wizards Gilbert Arenas has decided to begin running again.  What the hell is he training for now?  Pack it up and get ready for next year. No sense in blowing that lottery pick if you’re the Wizards…

It was great to see Rugby 7’s on ABC on Sunday, a very big step in the right direction for rugby in the United States…

Marvin Harrison is on the downside of his career; do not look for him to have a major revival with his new team…

The Detroit Lions should use their first round draft pick on Aaron Curry.  With Michael Oher and Andre Smith blowing the combine, there is no other solid number one pick left. The quarterbacks available are not worthy of a number one overall pick…

Ray Lewis will look good in a Dallas Cowboys uniform…

March Madness this year will be extra special.  No Cinderellas, just the big boys going at it all month…

The Washington Redskins are about to blow a ton of money on a free agent.  For Skins fans sake, I hope they sign Haynesworth…

How it is that UVA can produce so many NFL prospects, yet have virtually nothing to show for it on the field…

Jim Calhoun had every right to go off on the reporter who was asking those questions at the press conference on Saturday…

Michael Crabtree is still the top receiver in the NFL Draft even with his bum foot…

If there was a blueprint for doing everything wrong in a weekend Andre Smith executed that game plan perfectly…

Sadly everyday Jerry Jones is slipping closer and closer to Al Davis territory. I mean a gag order seriously?

It’s good to see Jeff Gordon get back to his winning ways, NASCAR needs to have the guy everybody hates…

Sid the Kid is crying about Ovie because #8 has taken the entire spotlight and established himself as the elite player in the NHL, and poor Crosby is struggling to keep pace.  Stop crying Sid…

Wanted a 1 liner, basically saying what I've said for yrs. McNabb should leave Philly. He told them he'd sign a long term deal if they give him help. And in the end, I highly doubt they will give him help, and once again he will be left with the same team he always has, but now they are even older.

What better place out there needs a QB?

Minnesota? Lots of weapons there too...

oh wait...

McNabb deserves some level of comfort in a contract and I'm fine with him using that as leverage to get a "weapon" (he wants Boldin or Housh from what I gather), but him leaving the Eagles is a case where its just change for change's sake...and I don't see either party benefiting...

Much like John Elway, you give McNabb a legit running game (Give him a real back...sorry Westy) and some competency in the receiving corps and bam...he'll be fine

Hey, I'm not going to argue with ya that there is a team loaded with talent waiting for him.

I just have no faith in the Eagles anymore from the top down. 34 million under the cap and still hugging their wallets. I want to see McNabb do well, or at least have a chance to. I don't Philly spending on Boldin or Housh, have a feeling they will get gun shy in the bidding war.

I do agree with you completely about a running back. Westbrook is great but cant take 30 plus between the tackle carries a game, plus the injury issue looms with him. There is a reason I have the Eagles drafting the RB out of Pitt with one of their first round picks

It is interesting that Ovechkin seems to have shifted his antagonistic antics towards Sid and away from Gino. It appears that Ovie and Gino kissed and made up at the All-Star game in Montreal. I have to wonder if that peace treaty was brokered with a heavy dose of input from Mother Russia.

Apparently Kovulchuck was the catalyst for the renewed friendship. And, your right, it was basically because these two had to mend their relationship for the good of the Russian olympic team. Plus the whole thing was rather silly since the two of them were long time friends anyways.

Sid's whining and Ovie just being a beast was distracting everyone from appreciating the best player on the ice,Evgeni Malkin. I love watching these two teams play. All three of those players elevate their games a little. Plus seeing the excitement from Malking and Ovie after they score is great for the game and fun to watch. It reminds me of why we love the game so much. This rivalry is exactly what hockey needs right now. Great players that seem to despise one another playing each other several times a year. Could yo ask for more?

The NHL has the best possible playoff options coming up this year. Pens and Caps would be huge because of the star power, they'd have the 4 best players in the league on the ice at once. Follow that up with the Flyers coming back to town would be great. As a Caps fan I rather avoid the Flyers simply because they seem to have the Caps number, but after a 7 game series last season it would be great ratings to put the two on the ice again

And yet the NHL reduced games with divisional opponents from 8 to 6 this year. What a dumb move. Divisional rivalries are the most intense in football and hockey, so the NHL cut the number of divisional games.

And if I were a Penguins fan, I'd be happy just to make a playoff series.

New York and New Jersey would also play each other if the season ended today. THAT'S a classic rivalry. Boston/Buffalo is also a nice divisional rivalry.

Overkill on a mundane story? NEVER!

Kudos to ABC for at least trying rugby on TV.

Marvin Harrison has always been soft, and now he's a jerk.

The Lions should trade their #1 pick.

Had Ray Lewis been convicted, he'd be a perfect Cowboy.

There will be Cinderellas. The fact that we don't know who they are yet is why they're Cinderellas.

Jim Calhoun earned a new fan in me.

Good to see Gordon win one race. Especially since his Dale's teammate. But one or two a year will be enough, Mr. Gordon.

The only wrong with the reporter's question of Calhoun was the context. In a normal press conference: by all means, ask away. In a post-game press conference: focus on the game.

I don't think the Eagles hate McNabb, it's more that they don't like to spend money, which pisses me off.

I won't ride McNabb to the extent most fans do, sure, I get pissy and yell and complain about him, but most times, I prefer to blame Andy and his 90/10 Pass/run.

Without McNabb there is no Eagles. They need to sign him, then draft a QB in 2-3 years to be his replacement. Kolb < Feeley

Come on now, Kolb's better than Feeley...he makes less mistakes Anyway, I believe the numbers are closer to 59-41 Pass-Run for the Reid Era (seriously)...that's the highest ever for a coach with something like 5 years

It was a joke, those numbers jut..lol..

And I don't think Kolb is a better backup than feeley, nor a better starter. Kolb was a waste of a pick it seems.

Witht he release of Dockery..I wouldnt mind bringing him in and kicking Herramans out to LT or RT if we can't bring back Tra or Jon.

JT is right, Dockery has bounced around to what will be his third team in 4-5 years I believe. He is not the player that he once was. Also remember speaking of contract years earlier, Dockery got a big contract to go to Buffalo and then he just sat around. So who knows how much he really has left in the tank

They made it to the Super Bowl with Todd Pinkston and Greg Lewis as starters. I think it's more than WRs.

I think they need a coach with creativity so McNabb's arm doesn't fall off from throwing so many times.

They made it to the Super Bowl with T.O. make no mistake about it, and Fred Ex put together the luckiest 2 week stretch in history. I wouldn't bank on catching that lightning in a bottle again. Harrison has a few more years left in him but truth be told he has not been a #1 in Indy in about three years now. Bring in Harrison if he is a cheap pick and then find a young guy but don't bring him in to be the top guy

I'm pretty sure Philly already brought in a young WR. Did everyone already forget about DeSean Jackson?? His 62 catches for 912 yards and two TD's in '08 sounds pretty solid for a rookie season, to me. When he's in the zone, he can do a whole lot for this offense. No need to spend a top draft pick on a receiver. Maybe a third or fourth rounder.

Good point Behbigben DeSean is good, but I don't think he will turn into a number one wide out. Especially if he has to be the return man.

What everyone is saying is Philly is Cheap period. Maybe the costs of football are finaling overrunning the incomes. And just maybe most the teams don't have the money to spend on salaries as they had a few years ago. This season will show just what has happened to the economy and how it will effect the major leagues in professional sports and the fan attendance.
