Avram Grant Sent Packing

Just three days after losing to Manchester United in the Champions League Final via penalties, Avram Grant has been sacked as Chelsea Manager. Grant was manager at Chelsea for a mere 8 months and had taken the team to their first ever Final and also gave United a run for their money in the league. This sacking could come as a surprise to many considering his achievements so far. He has lost only 5 times this season lost in the champions League final, the league cup final to the spurs and finished a close second in the league.Better than Mourinho. However I always felt that he wouldn't last long and he was the wrong choice in the first place. For a club like Chelsea a high profile manager is required and somehow Grant didn't fit in to the star studded club. Grant's appointment was based more on a friendly basis or so I feel. Chelsea have refused to make any comments till the appointment of their next manager. Ousted Barcelona manager,Frank Rijkaard, threatened Man City manager, Sven Goran Eriksson and Serie A winner for three consecutive seasons with Inter Milan, Roberto Mancini are all linked with the post.
