Another One? Yes, Another One, the Jets Sign Bubba Franks

Continuing a signing spree that reminiscent of the old show "Supermarket Sweep", the Jets and general manager Mike Tannenbaum announced the signing of free agent tight end Bubba Franks.

Franks previously played eight seasons in Green Bay, starting in 94 out of 114 games, racking up 256 receptions for 2,300 yards and 32 TDs.

Does Tannenbaum have more in store? We will soon find out.....

I'm pondering whether or not this goes to the LR, but I'll leave it for now. The Jets have done a truckload....but they have ZERO in the competent QB department. I have to think they'll try and get Matt Ryan in the draft.

I hear what you're saying but the more free agents the Jets sign, the more they are being built for "today" rather than "tomorrow". Definitely interesting how active this team has been during the off season.

Why would a report on a free agent signing go the the LR? It's a beat report, plain and simple

What made the Jets crazier:

The Pats winning streak? The Giants winning the Super Bowl? The Dolphins hiring the Tuna?

If only the Bills could contribute.....

Probably the Pats winning streak. I know it made me crazier.

It's sad how far Bubba has fallen. Reportedly, the contract is 1 year at 1.65 million. Imagine him signing for this three years ago. Wouldn't happen.

Looks like he's gonna be a backup for Baker. A blocking tight end.

I am glad he picked up somewhere. He provided outstanding Fantasy Football Value in 2001 when I picked him up late and got 9 TD's out of him. Helped me to the title.
