A big sports weekend and a chance to witness history.

This weekend is shaping up to be in the words of Dick Vitale, a dyper-dandy.  It will be indeed awesome with a capital A.  The H-O-T-T hot Ana Ivanovic attempts to win her first major against Dinara Safina tomorrow.  Roger Federer will attempt to crack the hard code that is Rafael Nadal in the French Open Men's final.  Euro 2008 gets underway with coverage on ESPN, so the soccer {football if you will} fans get their piece of the pie too.  And of course, we have what I feel is a pivotal Game 2 of the Celtics/Lakers.  In my view, this is a must win for the Lakers.

But of course, the granddaddy of them all is the Belmont Stakes and the chance to see Big Brown join the likes of Affirmed and Secretariat as a historic name.   This has a chance to be a historic day for Long Islanders due to the fact that the trainer and both owners hail from the Long Island area.  Fortune has smiled upon me as I just happen to live at least 15 minutes away from Belmont Park in Elmont, NY.  So I will be taking my hindquarters over there tomorrow afternoon.    Watching sports history being made on TV is one thing....

Witnessing sports history being made in front of you....priceless.

I shall provide a full recap of my day at the Stakes tomorrow night with hopes of finding the right people to plug our fair website..   I'm psyched, hyped and excited.

I could use many more adjectives but I don't want to risk carpal tunnel.

Ive been waiting for the Euro's to start for a long time but what is really being anticipated is the Federer-Nadal final.I really hope Federer can pull this one off but Nadal is in blistering form and seems unstoppable on clay.

Based on the way Nadal blew Djokovic away, I think he beats Federer again.

I've been to Belmont several times, but never to the Stakes. Just being in the place for a Thursday afternoon card is pretty cool, to be there for the biggie would be awesome. Have a great time, Dre, and while my money is on Casino Drive, I hope BB wins so you can be a part of, like you said, history.

Well, so much for history lol. But it was a great experience and I'd definitely go again.

The Czech's got lucky, Frei was hurt, Vanhelthen (or something like that) hit the post on an absolute sitter. There was a handball and that should've been a penalty. Yet the Swiss shot themselves by not clearing the ball properly and not finishing off their 500 chances. It's 1-0 to Czech Republic, as I eagerly await Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.
