AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

A Sad Day For Walker's Rants

This is actually a sad day. The college football season is over, and we are down to just three NFL games left on the year. Then we hit the dreaded off-season. No football for months on end. Not cool at all. But one thing you can do to hold you over between season is check out another hot edition of Walker's Rants.

Eddy Curry is being sued for sexual harassment; he just can't catch a break this season. Kind of funny though that a man is the one who brought the charges against him...

The Panthers need to draft a young QB and let him work while Jake Delhomme finishes his career...

The top 25 in college rugby is the biggest load of BS ever. At least get all the teams to play in the same season...

I cannot believe that John Smoltz is going to be Red Sox next year. It hurts to even say that...

I am very glad to see Rice and Henderson going into the Hall of Fame later this year...

Byron Leftwitch is already jockeying for a starting job with the Chicago Bears. If Lovie Smith is smart, he will take him up on that offer...

The Giants sorely missed Plaxico during their stretch run. However, that being said, they should not bring him back because it will just be more of the same ole BS...

The Arizona Cardinals are hosting the NFC Championship. That sounds so wrong, I cannot even explain it...

The North Carolina Tar Heels are not a bad football team (they are not even in a bad situation); they just play in the A.C.C. and for the first time in several years, the ACC is back on par to the level it should be. That's a good thing...

Ray Lewis still has the good and he can deliver fat out amazing...

The refs blew two calls in the Titans vs. Ravens game. The delay game call was bad, but not calling a safety when Joe Flacco stepped out of the back of the end zone is unforgivable...

Tim Tebow returning to the Gators for his final season is a great move. He has the opportunity to go down as the greatest college football player ever. He will only improve his draft stock. Great move! I'm glad to see he did not go chasing the dollars of NFL money...

I stand up and applaud Myron Rolle's decision to forgo the NFL draft to attend Oxford and work on furthering his education...

Mark McGwire is not a hall of famer. Yes, the steroids thing hurts him, but so does his lack of all essential stats and numbers. He was a one trick pony...

Tony Dungy was truly one of the great coaches in the NFL. His retirement on Monday was a great lost to the league. In an era where the commissioner wants to have integrity and hold players accountable for their actions, no man better exemplified those attributes that Tony Dungy. He is a great man, and now in his retirement from the NFL he can go out and observe his true calling and give back to the world...

I think he is talking about the football team that made it to a Bowl game this year against West Virginia.

Why would Lovie Smith take Byron Leftwich up on that offer? Kyle Orton, with the help of his superb running game led by rookie Matt Forte, set career highs in passing yards, TD's, attempts, completions (completion %) and QB rating. I know that's not saying much for Orton, but I think he handled the offense very well this season and if he works on the little things and can limit the mistakes (interceptions and fumbles) he should do fine next season. Orton will end up being the starter even if Leftwich was to head to Chicago, in my opinion. In three NFL seasons Orton has already played in 15 games twice. Leftwich has done that just one time in his 6 seasons. This leads to me believe that Leftwich does not make the ideal starter in most teams eyes, anyway. I think he will eventually realize that. Ben Roethlisberger tends to miss some games, why not stay in Pittsburgh and make the big bucks. He has gotten some spotlight. It was limited, but it was still spotlight and praise. Plus, he gets to practice against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

I seriously cannot believe that John Smoltz signed with the Red Sox, for several reasons. For one, he spent his entire career in Atlanta. Why the heck would he sign with Boston? Be loyal to your team and to your fans. (That's just my opinion.) Secondly, it really seems like the Braves are making some good moves. They signed Rafael Furcal to help their offense, and a couple of decent pitchers to improve their pitching. Third, he said this: "Every single minute that I spent in [Atlanta] and the three times that I was previously a free agent, I made it a priority to be here and to do whatever it took to retire an Atlanta Brave." Why didn't you retire then? You know, your career is pretty illustrious. I guess he just wants to finish his career strong. I'm kinda glad that Smoltz signed with the Sawx though (who wouldn't be?). But there's one concern: will he stay healthy, or will he be on the DL for most of the season, like last year?

Forget what I said about Rafael Furcal (I just looked him up: he's not with the Braves)
