The name's Ben Heck. I am 17-years old, and about to start my senior year at Queen Anne's County High School in Centreville, MD. I stand at 5 feet 8 inches and weigh 140 pounds. I am a Marylander, but I have been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan my entire life (my dad is from Pittsburgh).
I love writing, and talking about sports here on AGM, and I plan on going to a University to major in communications and/or sports management.

A "Tribute" to Skip Bayless

Ok, I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who dislikes this guy, but after hearing him bash LeBron countless times on his "1st and 10" show that airs on ESPN weekdays at 3 PM ET, I decided to write a tribute article to this guy. If you're confused as to which ESPN douchebag I'm talking about, just tune in to 1st and 10 one weekday afternoon (or in the morning when he appears on ESPN's First Take on ESPN2), and I'm sure it will be quite obvious who I'm talking about.
So, where should I begin? Possibly on the bashing of LeBron James, like I mentioned earlier, or his constant hating of the NHL? Actually, I think I'll start with a little background info: Skip Bayless was born on December 4th, 1951, and is currently writing for ESPN.com, as well as working as an analyst on ESPN/ESPN2. Skip began his writing career Miami Herald, and personally, I wish he stayed out their in Miami, but 2 years later was hired by the LA Times. Skip wrote for ESPN for a while, but just last year stopped writing columns to concentrate on the two ESPN shows that he makes daily appearances on.
Now that I've gotten the boring stuff out of the way, it's time for me to criticize skip, which is usually HIS job. My first complaint, is if you've ever actually sat down to watch his show, you might have noticed he argues too much. Maybe he disagrees with every single person that comes onto the show to add onto the show, and make it entertaining. But, I just think that takes away from the show, it's OK to argue every once in a while, but on every single topic?! That's nonsense. I know that most of you Patriots fans would agree with me when I say skip is stupid, and doesn't know what he's talking about after watching this video of Skip, and Sean Salisbury going at it.
Every time Lebron James has a big night, and leads his Cleveland Cavaliers to victory, Skip's always has to say something negative. Ha, I bet he even thinks he can play as good as LeBron (which we all know is bullshit). Today on 1st and 10, skip did not have a single positive thing to say about LeBron's Triple-Double last night. The Cavs may not have won the game (lost 93-85 vs HOU), but he did everything in his power to win the game, and I think it's pretty spectacular to get a Triple-double after shooting 0 for 7 in the first quarter. LeBron even shot 8-11 from the free throw line. Time after time I hear skip hate on LeBron, and I really don't see a legit reason. He made a federal case out of a speeding ticket he received a few months back. It seems he fails to realize that these guys are just trying to live normal lives off the court. I know that he's suppose to set a good example for younger NBA fans, but a speeding ticket?! Come on skip, it's not like he was at a bar, and shot and paralyzed a bouncer (Adam "Pacman" Jones), or hit a women (Pacman, and Randy Moss).
How can we forget the time he said Hockey isn't a sport? Unfortunately, I didn't find a video of his argument on Youtube, but if I find one later, I will post the link. How is hockey not a sport, skip (I decided not to capitalize his name, he doesn't deserve it)??? You not only have to skate, and hit a puck around the ice, but you have to do them both at the SAME TIME!!! I think skating on ice alone, takes a lot of athleticism, and practice. You also have to be alert, so you don't get jacked up. Hockey takes some very athletic people, and is possibly one of the toughest sports.
This is just a few of the many, many things skip does every day that makes me want to strangle him. Sometimes I find myself turning on the tube at 3 PM when I get home from School, just so I can laugh my ass off at his remarks. I noticed there are a lot of Jay Mariotti haters on the 'Chair, so I thought "Why not add skip the list?"
