APRIL FOOLS

Hey Fans,

Barry Bonds just signed a long term contract with the New York Yankees.

In this busy time of year of the sports calendar, there's plenty of other similar items which could be an example of pranks many of us will pull on our family and friends. They include:

For the first time since the 64 team NCAA men's basketball bracket was created all four No. 1 seeds are in the Final Four. For the first time ever all four teams in the Final Four will graduate all their seniors.

The Arena Football season quietly kicked off their season a couple of weeks ago and the TV ratings are better than women's tennis.

The women's NCAA basketball tournament pits Rutgers v. UCONN tonight and Don Imus will toss up the opening tip off to start this Big game.

The NHL, in its final week, has several teams still in the hunt for the last two spots in the quest for Lord Stanley's Cup. Not only will the NY Islanders make it, but the NHL post season will have a 5.0 TV rating.

With countries currently vying for berths in a variety of qualifying events in many sports for this year's Beijing Olympics, these games in August will be played in air quality safe for the 10,000+ competitors.

The Masters starts in nine days and my Ouija Board predicts that Tiger Woods will not make the cut.

In the future our cell phones will be nothing more than a way to converse with others while we are driving in our car.

APRIL FOOLS!

Have you seen the many mobile phone options professional leagues are rolling out for us fans to catch our favorite teams? It's bloody incredible.

I signed up for several ways to keep up to date on my March Madness picks and to follow my beloved Rockies this season. I highly recommend you consider using your "Mobile" as they say across the pond, to follow your team.

So, go take advantage of the one day in the year where we all get a chance to play a practical joke on whomever you choose.

"I highly recommend you consider using your "Mobile" as they say across the pond, to follow your team." Quite rightly we call it a mobile phone. Mobile implies it is portable, which is the point. A "cellphone" is a phone with a cell, or as we call it, battery in it. It need not be portable. Even then, what you call a cell can't be a "cell", in the true sense of the word (Chemistry... metal electrodes in metal ion solutions etc.) Ahhhhhh...

you know the "cell" in cellphones doesn't refer to the battery cell right?

Just a tip.....don't say APRIL FOOLS until all of the pranks have been complete, not every sentence.

Long term contract for Bonds told me it was an April Fool's prank right away.

At least it's not as bad as the strings of "So and So College adding wrestling" on some of the wrestling boards. Basically pissed people off. I think the Bonds long-term deal might have been the most over-used "prank/story" of the day ... but I think I saw it at AGM first.
