There are some things about sports I don't like... the New Yuck Muts, the University of Michigan and those ASSCRACK UGLY HELMETS, the Floridamn Gayturds and the Miami Crimicanes. I also think that NASCRAP and professional wrestling are a HUGE waste of air time on television and would rather watch women's Jello wrestling!

AFL Week 6 Picks

This week’s AFL Picks are sponsored by Bartman Beer, the only beer that won’t interfere with you.

Well, another 6-2 week. 30-8 for the season. At least I’m consistent. This is actually easier than I thought. If I knew what I know now, I would have done this last year. But that’s a story for another day.

Well, March Madness has spilled over into April and it’s baseball season. So, we present the picks for week 6.

Kansas City Brigade (0-4) @ Georgia Force (2-3). Georgia was lights out against Utah last week, while Kansas City was as close to San Jose as they could be before falling to them. The Brigade’s 0-4 record is tricky but I see the Force evening their record to .500 with a win at home.

Los Angeles Avengers (2-3) @ Colorado Crush (1-3). The Avengers took one on the chin last week against Philadelphia. Colorado hung tough last week against New Orleans and they may be one of the best 1-3 teams in the league. That won’t impress LA very much. Avengers take it big.

Utah Blaze (0-5) @ Philadelphia Soul (5-0). Two teams going in opposite directions in the literal sense of the word. The Blaze were put out by Georgia last week and Philadelphia hung on for dear life to beat Tampa Bay. I don’t see any changes this week. Philadelphia wins it going away.

San Jose Saber Cats (3-2) @ New Orleans VooDoo (4-1). San Jose came away with their lives against Kansas City last week. The VooDoo also won a close contest last week against Colorado. If anything, this might be an entertaining game. VooDoo makes it close but keeps it real.

Tampa Bay Storm (2-2) @ Columbus Destroyers (1-4). Tampa Bay didn’t bring their A game and yet almost beat Philadelphia last week. Columbus almost had Orlando on the ropes before losing. “I love a rainy night,” as Eddie Rabbit once said. Tampa Bay in a nail biter.

Grand Rapids Rampage (2-2) @ New York Dragons (1-4). Grand Rapids ran amok over Los Angeles last week, while New York was slain by Dallas in a close affair. The Rampage take this one but it will be a close contest.

Cleveland Gladiators (3-1) @ Dallas Desperados (5-0). Cleveland was idle last week, which may or may not be a good thing for them. Dallas edged a New York team that played better than their record. Why mess with perfection? Dallas wins it close.

Chicago Rush (4-1) @ Orlando Predators (3-2). The Rush took apart Arizona last week in Chicago. To that end, Orlando also won their contest last week against Columbus. Something has to give. We give it to Chicago even though Orlando will put up a fight.

Idle - Arizona

Just a coupla observations:

LA is hurtin', they've gotten beat the past three weeks by a combined score of 127-213. However, Colorado is even worse.

In the past two weeks, Grand Rapids has set the record for the most points scored in any two consecutive games, winning by a combined scored of 176-111. NY has no offensive line and Aaron Garcia has a rib injury.

Dallas is getting Clint Dolezel back.

The Soul is a bit of a surprise so far. Tony Graziani went down to injury two games ago, and also last year. During Tony's absence last year the Soul came completely unglued, losing 8 of ten but pulling out a playoff win with Tony back. This year, they're 2-0 and looking to keep pace with the Dallas squad.

The AFL (not the Arizona Fall League deserves more credit) It is it's own game and unique and wonderful for what it is!
