There are some things about sports I don't like... the New Yuck Muts, the University of Michigan and those ASSCRACK UGLY HELMETS, the Floridamn Gayturds and the Miami Crimicanes. I also think that NASCRAP and professional wrestling are a HUGE waste of air time on television and would rather watch women's Jello wrestling!

AFL Week 13 Picks

This week’s picks are brought to you by The Ken Griffey Bank and Trust. We pay you in pennies!

What a week! 7-1, which is my best week since I’ve been doing these picks. And that’s not just because of Big Brown (although that could have played a small role). The great week of picks puts me at 64-30 for the season. There

'

Kansas City Brigade (2-9) at Philadelphia Soul (10-2). Kansas City comes off a tough loss to Orlando last week. KC was held to 260 yards in total offense and had three turnovers in the loss to the Predators and allowed T.T. Toliver to run amok on their defense with 152 total yards and two touchdowns. A 2-9 season is nothing to write home about. Philadelphia took Columbus to task last week in the city of Brotherly Love after their loss to Georgia and was almost matched yard for yard against the Destroyers. Philly also managed to hang on to the football, which helped them greatly. The Soul have all but stamped their ticket to the postseason with a win last week and can make it official with a win this week. Philly takes the Brigade to the woodshed.

'

Dallas Desperados (9-2) at Orlando Predators (8-4). T.T. Toliver was the force behind Orlando’s win over Kansas City last week and Dallas has to do whatever it takes to stop him. Arizona turned the ball over twice against the Desperados and still managed to beat Dallas in the Lone Star State. Dallas will have a chip on their shoulder this week, so Orlando had best beware. Look for Dallas to win on the road.

'

Cleveland Gladiators (7-4) at Tampa Bay Storm (5-6). Cleveland comes off a win over Colorado last weekend in Denver. The Gladiators almost let the contest slip away from them and can’t afford to do that much longer. Tampa Bay got their ducks in a row against Grand Rapids last week and want to even their AFL ledger at 6-6. The Storm came away from their contest with 309 yards in total offense against Grand Rapids along with five turnovers. The Storm may do some damage this week and reach the .500 mark this week. Tampa Bay wins even though Cleveland will give them a fight.

'

New York Dragons (6-5) at Columbus Destroyers (2-9). Both teams come to this week’s contest on losing notes. The Dragons were maltreated by Georgia, giving up over 400 yards in total offense and only had 8,500 fans in attendance last week. They could have used those fans to make things miserable for Georgia. Columbus is not going to the playoffs with their record but they could make things bad for New York, who at 6-5 has a chance to make the postseason AFL party. New York takes the Destroyers to task this week.

'

Chicago Rush (9-2) at Utah Blaze (2-10). Utah is sort of like the girl with the curl in her forehead. You know, when they’re good, they’re very, very good… but when they’re bad, they’re horrid. Last week against San Jose, they were horrid, losing the ball three times against the Saber Cats. Chicago did not miss a beat from the off week and owned Los Angeles last Monday night in the Windy City, holding the Avengers to single digit points in all four quarters as they marched to clinching the AFL Central Division. They brought their A game last Monday on ESPN2 and look for someone to pound. Utah looks like their next victim. The Rush put out the Blaze.

'

Grand Rapids Rampage (3-8) at Arizona Rattlers (5-6). Grand Rapids did not look good against Tampa Bay last week, allowing the Storm to rack up 309 yards in total offense and turning over the ball five times. This is probably one of the better teams in the AFL that will not be in the playoffs. Arizona looked like a team that was hungry to win last week and came away with one of the closer games this season in Dallas. Arizona is a sleeper team that can creep up on you. Arizona wins in the desert this week although Grand Rapids may have something to say about it.

'

Colorado Crush (4-7) at San Jose Saber Cats (7-5). Despite turning the ball over twice on fumbles, Colorado almost beat Cleveland in Denver last week. Chad Owens and Ben Nelson were all the offense for the Crush with over 100 total yards each. San Jose could do no wrong against Utah last week and made life unbearable for the Blaze, picking up three turnovers. The Saber Cats could do some damage in the playoffs. The Saber Cats know the way to San Jose and take Colorado down a peg.

Georgia Force (6-5) at New Orleans VooDoo (7-4). The Force went up north and took care of business against New York last week. Georgia outscored New York 44-26 in the final 30 minutes of play on Long Island and moved itself over the .500 mark. New Orleans was idle last week, so they could either be rusty or ready. They looked pretty good two weeks ago against Tampa Bay but it’s “what have you done for me lately?” time. Georgia is on a tear, winning two in a row and could make it three. Force takes this one on national television Memorial Day weekend.
