AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

2009 NFL Combine Sunday Edition -I know it's late SHUT IT

It's Sunday at the NFL Combine and today we are watching the last batch of the quarterbacks as well as some of the receivers going through their routines.

People to note today is USC's Mark Sanchez who is throwing and going through the workouts today. Matt Stafford of Georgia will not be throwing today.

Another interesting note for all you UVA fans, Kevin Ogletree ran a 4.37 40 yard dash, tied for ninth among receivers and tied him with super receiver Percy Harvin.

Another big note from the combine so far has been the fate of star wide out Michael Crabtree. It was determined yesterday that Crabtree has a stress fracture in his foot. The injury will keep the youngster from running at this years NFL Combine. However, he has stated that he will run at the Texas Tech pro day in March. After that, he will elect to have surgery on his injured foot. Another interesting note about this story is it means that Michael Crabtree has still not been clocked in a 40-yard dash.

Watching QB drills right now. It's amazing at how many of these QB's are struggling with the 5-7 step drops. That's a direct correlation to them running a spread offense.

Pat White is impressing me right now. His arm strength is better than I thought, and despite being an option QB, his football is great.

Mark Sanchez does not look good. He is missing a lot of throws that QB of his caliber should be making. He is sailing his passes. I also don't like his delivery. Right now Stafford is the better pick in my books. But I guess, I am just comfirming what i already thought.

Mark Sanchez has under thrown all his deep balls. Simply not impressive.

Pat White looks like he could be a starting NFL QB.

Jon Gruden just took a dig at Phil and Chris Simms.

The quarterbacks are off the field and now we are getting ready to watch some RB's do some running.

Overall this years QB class is kinda weak. In all honesty Pat White has been the best I have seen thus far. Sanchez has worked his way out of the top of my draft board. I had the Jets looking at him, be in all honesty I'd consider droping him even farther than that. All in all, I don't think there is a true franchise QB in the draft this year.

Funny thing, other sites with people at the Combine (nice luxury, eh?)state that Sanchez has the best footwork of all the quarterbacks.

Ididn't watch the Combine. Could Sanchez' issues with accuracy be related to unfamiliarity with the receivers? If so, time and practice will resolve that. Footwork, on the other hand, is much more difficult to uncoach/coach.

Sanchez has good footwork in his drills, but he footwork in his 3,5 and 7 step drops was a bit off. The familiarity with receivers is the biggest load of bull that agents and players feed the press at the combine. You don't need familiarity with a wide out throw the ball into space. You need that chemistry when the QB knows to toss it to the back shoulder or leave it a bit short when facing man coverage. There is no coverage at the combine, an over thrown ball is just overthrown no excuses really

"an over thrown ball is just overthrown no excuses really..." unless he was throwing it to a space beyond the player and misjudged the speed based on an unfamiliarity with the receiver.

Let's get one thing straight. I am not a fan of any of the QBs coming out this year. Sanchez especially. He doesn't impress me. However, it does stand to reason that if the QB is throwing to a space and the receiver is early or late getting there, the issue isn't accuracy, it's familiarity with the speed of the receiver. It could be subtle enough that the ball ends on the wrong shoulder or just a bit short or a bit long.

Seems logical to me.

Eh... that's a weak excuse. Sorry. you work with the same guy throughout the combine, and frankly it's not like 4.45 and 4.47 are that vastly different. I just don't buy the new receiver thing. Sanchez's arm just wasn't very good. He under threw every deep ball, and he struggled to get the out route to his receivers outside the numbers. That's an arm issue and nothing else.

The big problem with Sanchez is his head....He thinks going into the NFL is going to be like his entrance into College football. Everything has come easy for him at the high school level and then at USC but the NFL is going to be unforgiving. He hasn't played enough games on any level to truly understand what his is going to be going through. His college coach made a statement that he wasn't ready to go the next level and maybe what we are seeing at the camps are exactly that.."He isn't ready" and some of his skills are not where a first rounders' should be. BigP is right on here, no weak excuse he should be hitting his recievers right on the money but he continues to struggle and his place in the draft goes down every time he throws the ball off the mark. We have all seen qb's that look great and unreal in college and when they get to the next level can't do it. Maybe this situation it maybe wrong in the final outcome but only time will tell..The up and coming March madness is going to be very interesting now that the Number 1 has been dumped again. More NCAA and can't wait for the Major League season to begin.

He's only coming out this year because this is a weaker year for QBs than next year. In a weak field, he has greater potential to be drafted higher and thus get more money.

Ryan Leaf and Akili Smith came out with limited experience and it they certainly didn't thrive Then again, there is Tom Brady...

QB's who lack experience tend to struggle that's just the fact. Yes there's Brady, and pretty much every rule I can think of about anything has an exception to one degree or another. I guess Brady falls into that. Sanchez played what 14 NCAA games, he looked average in the bulk of them. His best games came against WSU, UVA and PSU. UVA and WSU stunk it up on defense so those games can be thrown out. PSU he had a month to game plan with some of the best coaches in the game so again, you have to put an Astrix by that game. I mean I honestly want to like the kid, but he just doesn't have it all together in my opinion. Hell even Matt Leinhart was more polished coming out, and look how his NFL career has turned out to date
