Art Phelan (Arthur Thomas Phelan) was born on August 14, 1887 in Niantic, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on June 25, 1910 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1912, his rookie year, he hit .243 with 3 home runs and 54 RBI. Phelan played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Art Phelan's best season was 1912, when he stole 25 bases and knocked in 54 runs.
