Art Nichols (Arthur Francis Nichols) was born on July 14, 1871 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1898 for the Chicago Orphans. In 1901, his rookie year, he hit .244 with 1 home run and 33 RBI. Nichols played for the Chicago Orphans and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 6 year career.
