Art Griggs (Arthur Carle Griggs) was born on December 10, 1884 in Topeka, Kansas. He made his Major League debut on May 2, 1909 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1909, his rookie year, he hit .280 with 0 home runs and 43 RBI. Griggs played for the St. Louis Browns, Cleveland Naps, Brooklyn Tip-Tops and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Art Griggs's best season was 1909, when he hit for a .280 average.
