Art Allison (Arthur Algernon Allison) was born on January 29, 1849 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on May 4, 1871 for the Cleveland Forest Citys. In 1871, his rookie year, he hit .292 with 0 home runs and 19 RBI. Allison played for the Cleveland Forest Citys, Elizabeth Resolutes, Washington Nationals, Hartford Dark Blues and Louisville Grays over the course of his 5 year career.
