[edit] Biography

Arky Vaughan (Joseph Floyd Vaughan) was born on March 9, 1912 in Clifty, Arkansas. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1932 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1932, his rookie year, he hit .318 with 4 home runs and 61 RBI. Vaughan played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 14 year career.
