Are you ready for some bad NFL football picks?

Well please look at these and bet heavy the other way. Sorry no college picks this time, since it is hard work being this bad with the NFL.

Okay let’s look at Week #3

Arizona Cardinals (1-1) at Baltimore Ravens (1 – 1) (-8) Even as banged up as the Ravens are they still have enough to beat the Cardinals. Ravens 24 – 13

Carolina (1-1) at Atlanta (1-1) (+4) Please insert Atlanta Falcons/Ron Mexico season going to the dogs joke here. Will someone please give the Panthers some mood stabilizers? Seriously this team looks great then turns around and soils themselves. But that should not matter because the Panthers will not let this one go by. The big question is at what point of the game will Peppers break open the Harrington Piñata? Panthers 28 – 10

Minnesota (1-1) at Kansas City (0-2) (-3) Folks when Kelly Holcomb is seen as an upgrade at the QB position, then you have issues. These two teams may try to just bore each other to death. They say the Over/Under is 33 ½. What are they playing a doubleheader? After the game Gunter Cunningham will start a profanity laced tirade over Halloween. Chiefs 18 - 12

San Francisco (2-0) at Pittsburgh (2-0) (-9) The Steelers have looked impressive in their two wins, the Niners although not pretty have gritted out two wins. This game will be a great measuring stick on where these teams are. But I think the Steelers will show they should be in the playoff race. The Niners however will not go quietly and cover. Steelers 30 – 24

Houston (2-0) at Indianapolis (2-0) (-6) The Texans 2 – 0 ???? This would have been better if Houston did not have a problem (Andre Johnson - out). The Colts are still humming along, close game last week, but the Titans know how to play the Colts. Again, the Texans need to follow the plan laid out by others. Run, run, run, mix in a big play and run some more. Keep Peyton Manning on the sideline, that however that will not happen this week. Colts 37 – 20

San Diego (1-1) at Green Bay (2-0) (+5) This looked like an early season cupcake for the Bolts back in August, but that has changed. A troubled Bolts offense now has to take on a D on the rise. Norv will show us if he in midseason form if they can not get things going. Look last week they got the preverbal 2X4 across the head at Foxboro. It was like the Pats knew what the Chargers were doing. But as much as all the elements for an upset, the Packers just won’t have enough O to put them over the top. The Chargers will eek out a win and come back to San Diego (2-1) but Bolts and their fans will not be totally content with that. Chargers 21 – 17

Detroit (2-0) at Philadelphia (0-2) (-6) It is always sunny in Philadelphia. Things are mess and a loss this weekend will turn it into a grease fire. The fans, classy as always are booing Donovan McNabb, who when it is all said and done will be one of the best ever to play for the Eagles. Sure, some of the boos are justified, but cut the guy a break. This team would not be better with Jeff Garcia. Face it they are thin in some spots and they have not figured out how to find WR and DL talent. As for the Lions (2-0), really (2-0), hmmmm. The Lions are showing improvement. But it seems that Marinelli is not truly the head coach. I feel that this is more Mike Martz team than anything. The Mad Man is back and figuring out ways to make Mike Furrey an All-Pro. But they Gun Metal Gray and Honolulu Blue clad Lions will have their feel good story halted as the Eagles fight for their lives, but they will cover. Eagles 30 – 27

Buffalo (0-2) at New England (2-0) (-16.5) I think the only question we have is can the Patriots cover as the Bills continue their Tragical Misery Tour. I think the Pats will cover, by hook or by Belicheck. Patriots 34 – 10

Miami (0-2) at New York Jets (0-2) (-3) Well, things have been tough for the Manginuis, but it could be worse, he could be trying to clean up after Tropical Depression Saban. The Jets win a game that may try to compete with the Chiefs/Vikings yawner. Jets 23 – 17

Cleveland (1-1) at Oakland (0-2) (-3) This will not be pretty. The 51 points the Browns laid on the Work Release program is an aberration. This game will not even be as entertaining as last year’s slopfest. The Raiders will finally catch a break and win and win big. Raiders 38 – 18

New York Giants (0-2) at Washington (2-0) (3.5) Real classy Antonio Pierce, real classy. Using an air horn during an interview because you not happy about the question (which was a benign one) are you serious? Excuse me Coach Coughlin; even though I am not a fan and would like to see you suffer, I think you should leave now before this becomes a Superfund site. The Skins could and should go to (3-0) and that should make the Little Emperor happy, hell in the NFC that could stoke Super Bowl talk. Redskins 28 – 23

Cincinnati (1-1) at Seattle (1-1) (3.5) This will be an epic battle of two teams with really ugly uni’s. You have the jack-o-lanterns versus Rotten Meat. Like nearly everyone out there I will also make the Marvin Lewis should remove Defensive Coordinator from his resume reference here. Seriously giving up just over half a century to the BROWNS! That will not bode well. As for the Seahawks, all is not well. Shaun Alexander has this nagging hand issue, the DL is a little light and the Offense is not on track. But even with that they are still a player in the NFC which is now short for N on. F ebruary. C ontenders. Since the kitties are on a road, it will help the Emerald City forget about the M’s fade. Seahawks 36 – 30

St. Louis (0-2) at Tampa Bay (1-1) (3.5) Chucky may actually save his job, if the Saints keep tanking. They take on a Rams team that is not ready to hit the panic button, but they are looking at quite hungrily. Their D is a mess, Bulger is getting boloed, and Steven Jackson is getting his yards in a Nike Ad. The Buccaneers push the Rams closer to ruining their season, but since this is the NFC (0-3) it is not a death sentence. Bucs 21 – 15

Jacksonville (1-1) at Denver (2-0) (-3) After two very close calls the Broncos step up in class when the Jags roll into the Mile High City. Are the Broncos truly better than last season? The Offense looks better, but they are still not converting Red Zone visits into 7’s. The Defense looked great Week#1 by holding Buffalo to under 200 yards, and held the Raiders to under 100 yards passing, but… The team is susceptible to teams that can run, last week LaMont Jordan ran up 153 yards. They face a team that has to run the ball, since they have Receivers who can’t receive and a team with QB issues. Even though Garrard has not been bad we still do not know if he can carry the QB standard for 16 games? So the Jags will try to ram Taylor and Jones-Drew at the Broncos. So what does his all mean? I think the Broncos should win, but looking at the #’s the Broncos have been awful ATS, so take the Jaguars and the points. Jags 21 - 20

SUNDAY NIGHT

Dallas (2-0) at Chicago (1-1)(-3) TheBears and Cowboys on Sunday night, sounds like what John Madden and Brett Favre do together in Madden Cruiser, but instead it is the match up for Sunday. The Bears defense has picked up where they left off. The offense has not, and it is all not Rex’s fault. They face a Dallas team that has won surprisingly with offense and with out Terry Glenn. The D has not been as stellar as hoped and problems with injuries have arisen on the Secondary and DL. On the bright side, TO has behaved and Tony Romo is playing like he may be worth a possible big payday. Can the Cowboys pull the upset in Chicago? This is another one that lines up as an upset, but I think the Bears manufacture a couple of turnovers and use Special Teams to tilt the field. Devin Hester will affect the outcome and not by a return. I feel the Cowboys will shank a punt and give Chicago great field position. Bears 17 - 13

MONDAY NIGHT

Tennessee (1-1) at New Orleans (0-2) (-4.5) You wonder if Vince and Reggie will be gossiping about Mario Williams before the game. Let it go guys. This is a must win for the Saints, who at (0-2) have looked awful at every facet of the game. Coach Payton has to get back to the basics and stop trying to make Reggie Bush someone who he his not. He is not a between the tackles kind of guy. Use Deuce damn it! They face a better than expected Titans team who with a break could be (2-0). It is not pretty but they find ways to give them self a shot at the end of the game to win. It will not be as emotional as last season’s home opener the Saints will find a way to make things look like 2006. Saints 31 - 22

Good post. Though, it would have been nice to hear more about Arizona and Baltimore.
