Are the Bengals ruining their chances of becoming a 'Great' team?

With the drafting of Ahmad Brooks yesterday, the Bengals added yet another guy who has character issues in his background. My question, I think, is a legitimate one. In this day and age of the NFL where you have to play within the guidelines of the salary cap, can the Bengals afford to continue selecting players of this caliber and expect to win a championship? Yes, they will still be a darn good team to choose players from when we're talking fantasy football, but will they have the strong character guys that are needed to build a championship team? They have already had three incidents this off-season, with the arrests of Chris Henry and Frostee Rucker and yesterdays’ suspension of Odell Thurman. If I were a Bengals fan, I think I would be a little worried about the long-term direction this team is headed in. Will they be good? No doubt. But will they be able to win that ultimate prize? That something that I'm not too sure about.
