Archie McKain
[edit] Biography
Born on May 12, 1911 in Delphos, Kansas, Archie McKain (Archie Richard McKain) played for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 6 year career. McKain broke into the bigs on April 25, 1937 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 4.66 ERA in 137 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Archie McKain's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1937, when he posted a 4.66 ERA and struck out 66 batters. However, others believe that it was 1940, when he posted a 2.82 ERA.
