One week after their miracle in the Big House, Appalachian State cruised to a victory over Division II Lenoir-Rhyne, 48-7.
The App. State Mountaineers came out firing early. With last week's star Armanti Edwards on the bench nursing a sore shoulder, backup QB Trey Elder accounted for a touchdown on the first 5 possesions for ASU. He threw for 4, and ran for another. App. State was up 35-0 with 10:58 left in the first half. At this point, Coach Jerry Moore put in numerous backups, who still handed Lenoir-Rhyne in the remainder of the game.
Also this week, the AP made a new rule stating that lower division teams are now eligible to receive votes in the AP Poll. They called this the "Appalachian State Rule".
With all the new developments, do you think that Appalachian State deserves to be ranked in the top 25?
