Any of you guys call me Francis, and I'll kill you...

Oh man it's great when I get to use a line from the movie Stripes (1981) as my blog post title! But what could top a great opening from the Colorado Rockies and there pitcher Jeff Francis.

Hmmmm a win for the Red Sox tonight would top it for me! haha!

But back to the game last night...I was very happy to see the crowd become a sell out last night as some of you read in my post yesterday( http://bosoxbuzz.blogspot.com/2007/10/anticipation.html) I was pretty upset when I heard there was a chance the game might not be sold out. And to top it off the fans showed their emotion in the seventh inning when Down 5-1, Arizona put runners at first and second with no outs in the seventh. Augie Ojeda bounced to third baseman Garrett Atkins, who threw to second baseman Kaz Matusi. Justin Upton, running from first base, slid over second base and then rolled his right shoulder into second baseman Kaz Matsui’s left leg, knocking the infielder to the ground. Second base umpire Larry Vanover immediately called Upton out for interference, resulting in a double play. Fans started throwing water bottles onto the field from the upper decks. When more debris followed, umpires told the teams to get back in the dugouts.

Although I think it was pretty lame and childish it was nice to see some passion!

Good game Rockies up 1-0 on the Diamondbacks....

Red Sox vs. Indians tonight Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts! Getting super pumped up for the game! Gonna be a great match-up and good game.

And for the first time in some time (like the Babe Ruth Era!) Boston is the favorite and as the Boston Globes John Powers writes, "Until now, the Sox have been eternal underdogs, their rare autumnal successes producing delighted disbelief. But both the Las Vegas and London oddsmakers agree. Odds-on, this is The Yeah."

Yes true it is a different role for the Red Sox and Sox nation...the Favorite! Definitely a new stance for both perspectives. But it is good to be in the position and I am sure most of us agree it would be nice to be there for a while.

Powers goes on to write, "The players, however, are embracing their newfound overdog stature. "Hopefully, this is the beginning of our reign," Jonathan Papelbon said Sunday in the champagne-drenched clubhouse after Boston's win over the Angels."

When all is said and done we will see how good this team really is...

...hopefully there as smart as they are good SIGN MIKE LOWELL!!!

Peace and Happiness, GO SOX!

-Michael
