Born on March 1, 1963 in Quibor, Lara (Venezuela), Tony Castillo (Antonio Jose (Jimenez) Castillo) played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 10 year career. Castillo broke into the bigs on August 14, 1988 with the Toronto Blue Jays, and put up a 4.23 ERA in 76.2 innings pitched in 1990, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Tony Castillo's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1995, when he posted a 3.22 ERA and notched 13 saves. However, others believe that it was 1990, when he posted a 4.23 ERA and struck out 64 batters.
