CAREER: One of the nation's most talented safeties three years ago who has been injury-prone since then...Will miss the entire 2007 season because of a torn left ACL suffered in late April (underwent reconstructive surgery on April 23)...Has played in 18 games, but only seven of them the last two seasons...Suffered a torn right ACL in 2005 and missed 11 games, and was sidelined for seven games last season...Named to the 2004 All-America Freshman Team chosen by Rivals.com, was voted to the All-ACC Freshman Team, and was selected to The Sporting News' second-team All-Freshman team...Has the potential to be another in a long line of outstanding Miami safeties...Two-year career totals read 80 tackles, three tackles for loss, two QB pressures, one sack, one forced fumble, one pass breakup and one interception...Is an exceptional special teams player, blocking two punts that were returned for touchdowns as a freshman...Hard-nosed defender who is excellent in run support...Double major in liberal arts and criminology.

2006 (SOPHOMORE): Hampered by injuries much of the season and appeared in only six games (no starts), mostly on special teams...Made one tackle...Played on special teams against Florida State in his first game back after tearing his ACL in the 2005 season opener (no tackles)...Saw action for 10 plays on defense as a reserve safety against FAMU, and played on special teams...Did not play the next two games because of an ankle injury...Returned to action vs. North Carolina, playing on special teams and for four plays on defense...Played on special teams and saw limited action on defense (one solo) against FIU...Did not play the next five games...Returned to action against Boston College, playing on special teams and seeing limited action at safety...Played on special teams in the bowl game against Nevada.

2005 (MEDICAL REDSHIRT): Went into the season as the starting strong safety before suffering a season-ending knee injury...Started at strong safety in the season opener at Florida State but suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the second quarter after only 22 plays...For the game, registered six tackles (four solo)...Underwent arthroscopic surgery on Sept. 21 and missed the remainder of the season.

2004 (FRESHMAN): One of three true freshman who finished the season as a starter...Played in 11 games, making six starts at free safety...For the season, made 73 tackles (sixth on the team), three tackles for loss, two QB pressures, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception...Also blocked two punts...Selected as the team's Defensive Rookie of the Year (along with LB Romeo Davis)...Did not play in the season opener vs. FSU, marking his only game missed all season...Made his first appearance as a Hurricane a week later vs. Louisiana Tech and made six tackles...Saw considerable action at Houston, notching five tackles and a forced fumble. Also blocked a punt that was recovered by Tavares Gooden for a touchdown less than a minute into the game. Named ACC Rookie of the Week...Made two tackles in limited action at Georgia Tech...Made his first career start against Louisville in place of an injured Brandon Meriweather and tallied 12 tackles...Did not start at NC State but made two tackles and got the first interception of his career...Made four tackles at North Carolina after Meriweather left the game with an injury...Started at free safety vs. Clemson with Meriweather out and recorded four tackles...Started at free safety at Virginia and registered four tackles, one QB pressure and got his second interception of the season...Started at free safety vs. Wake Forest and tallied three tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble. Also blocked a punt that was recovered by Rashaun Jones in the end zone for a touchdown...Started at free safety vs. Virginia Tech and made 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and two QB pressures...Started in the Peach Bowl vs. Florida and made seven tackles (three solo) and one pass breakup.

HIGH SCHOOL: Physical player who was widely considered one of the best prospects in the state of Florida regardless of position...SuperPrep All-American...Rated the No. 18 defensive back in America and the No. 17 prospect in Florida by SuperPrep...Rated the nation's No. 22 safety prospect by Rivals.com...Rated the No. 30 prospect in Florida by the Miami Herald...Intercepted seven passes over the span of his junior and senior seasons...As a senior in 2003, made 59 tackles (40 solo), intercepted four passes (returned for 40 yards), broke up five passes, recovered a fumble and forced a fumble...Was the team's second-leading tackler as a senior...Also returned 19 punts for 296 yards (15.6 avg.), with a long of 74 yards...Returned one interception for a TD as a senior...As a junior in 2002, ranked fifth on the team with 32 tackles (18 solo), broke up a team-leading 11 passes, intercepted two passes and returned three punts for 33 yards (11.0 avg.)...Transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas prior to his junior season from Fort Lauderdale's Stranahan High School...Played linebacker and wingback at Stranahan...Chose Miami over Georgia, Florida State and Ohio State...Coached by George Smith.
