Another Article About Boston Sports

Surprise, surprise.  There is another undefeated Boston sports team that has gotten more recognition over the offseason than it has after their 5-0 start.  Yes, I am talking about the Boston Celtics, the only undefeated team left in the NBA.  The NBA, along with NASCAR, doesn't get much attention here on the 'Chair, but the Celtics have had a great start to their season after signing Forward Kevin Garnett, and SG Ray Allen this offseason to help out the Celtics Forward, Paul Pierce.  Although the Celtics' 1st five opponents had a combined 16-18 record, the Celtics still deserve credit for their super start.  Boston has averaged 107.6 PPG, and have only been held under 100 points once (in a 98-95 defeat of the Toronto Raptors in OT on Sunday November, 4th in Toronto).

The Celtics' tremendous trifecta (Garnett, Allen, Pierce), have lead the Celtics to those 107 PPG, and are the heart and soul of Boston's undefeated team.  I really think this team can play with teams like the San Antonio Spurs, and Dallas Mavericks, they have a chance at showing they can beat anyone when they face the Miami Heat on the 16th, although the Heat are 1-5, they are still a great team (if Wade, and Shaq are healthy), and they will improve as the season progresses.  Instead of continually talking about the Pats, Sox, and BC Eagles (who have lost 2 straight), maybe the city of Boston should take some spotlight off of them, and praise the Celtics instead.  But, I don't want them to wear out the subject, like they did to the Pats, and Sox.

Celtics Starters (Per Game Stats)

Kendrick Perkins (C)- 5 GS, 26.6 MIN, 6 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 1.2 APG, 0.60 STL, 1.6 BLK,

Kevin Garnett (PF)- 5 GS, 39.8 MIN, 22.6 PPG, 15.8 RPG, 6 APG, 2.8 STL, 1.6 BLK

Paul Pierce (SF)- 5 GS, 38.4 MIN, 23.6 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 4.6 APG, 2 STL, 0.2 BLK

Ray Allen (SG)- 5 GS, 40.6 MIN, 22.6 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 3.2 APG, 0.6 STL, 0 BLK

Rajon Rondo (PG)- 5 GS, 31.8 MIN, 9.6 PPG, 2 RPG, 4 APG, 2.8 STL, 0 BLK

Celtics Bench

Eddie House- 5 G, 23.2 MIN, 11.2 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 3 APG, 0.6 STL, 0.2 BLK

James Posey- 2 G, 15.5 MIN, 5.5 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 0.5 APG, 0 STL, 0 BLK

Gabe Pruitt- 1 G, 3 MIN, 4 PPG, 0 RPG, 1 APG, 0 STL, 0 BLK

Glen Davis (R)- 4 G, 8.3 MIN, 3 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 1 APG, 1.2 STL, 0.2 BLK

Brian Scalabrine- 4 G, 17.3 MIN, 3.5 PPG, 3 RPG, 1.5 APG, 0.2 STL, 0 BLK

Expect the Celtics to keep the pace, it may only be 5 games, but the Celtics have a great team, and if they stay healthy for at least three-fourths of the regular season they could run away with the Eastern Conference Title.  The few teams who can compete with the Celtics in the Eastern Conference are the Pistons, and Magic, other than those two teams, I don't think anyone else has a chance to beat out Boston.  I may be saying this too soon, but that is just my opinion based on the early start for Boston.

Boston's Next 5 Games:

TUE November 13th @ Indiana

WED November 14th v.s. NJ Nets

FRI November 16th v.s. Miami

SUN November 18th @ Orlando

WED November 21st v.s. Golden State

Damn it- damn it all to hell-- why you so clever? I set you up... you knock me down... oooo I was once a clever man who was on drugs and alcohol and addicted to sex.. I had an edge-- I was witty.. nobody could stop me.. then I went on "vacation" where to score drugs you have to do very very very very very very bad things-- I stopped doing drugs.. now Manny make fun.. me so stupid

No. Nothing's changed except your perspective. You were always this stupid but the drugs and alcohol hid it from you.

If Boston is to AGM what New York is to ESPN then I'm still FOX in either case and that seriously pisses me off cause I hate being FOX.

The Celtics will make a great run this year. Not only is their offense crazy - I think they are playing great team defense right now and the unselfishness Garnett/Allen/Pierce are displaying thus far will bring them a long way if they keep it up. I have been a Kevin Garnett supporter for a very long time and while it was sad to see him leave Minnesota, I'd rather see him do well elsewhere than stay with the T'Wolves and get no help.

Team ball- Watching the PRess Cofnerence after the nuggets game Garnett and Pierce sounded like Brady and Bruschi! (after a blow-out) We have so much left to work on. (on being up 40 at the half) We don't expect that we just get in and work hard. Sick sick sick. Awesome, but sick.

You can't go 82-0 unless you win the first 5, right?

Everyone on ESPN has them winning around 55 games, that's foolish, they'll hit 60 without a doubt. They are not historic by any stretch but they are damn good. They are hungry and unselfich, those are thigns we have not seen in the NBA since before Jordan. They are old school and I bet Red is enjoying watching this team play ball.

I see them hitting around 60 wins, maybe a tad under. They don't have the depth to get much higher and you know Ray Allen is gonna be hurt for at least 10-15 games. That's gonna be good enough for the first seed in the east, though.

They'll be playing most of their games against the weak East. They'll hit 60.

With that schedule, unless they have a really off night or just get tired, they could well be 10-0.

The bench is my only concern. Allen, Garnett and Pierce have played 35-40 minutes a game each. You just have to wonder if that would effect them in the long run.

Yeah, that could slow them down at about midseason at the latest. I like what House has done off the bench, so far.

They'll be good, but then again, they play in the East, so winning 60 is more like winning 45 in the west
