Will the Jets beat the Patriots?
Are you willing to spot someone 7.5 points if they take the Gators in the BCS "Title" Game?
Well ... now you can put your community-building where your mouth is.
Welcome to ArmchairGM Community Challenges.
Starting today, you can challenge other users over questions like the above. The winner gets bragging rights. The loser has to help improve the site, based on the terms of the challenge. If you click on any user's homepage, there will be a "Challenge User" link under the toolbox section. An example? Sure!
I've challenged Roblefko to the following terms: On January 7, 2007 (that's this Saturday), the Giants will win by a larger margin (or lose by a smaller margin) than will the Jets. If I win, Roblefko has to write Tiki Barber's biography (and do so in a neutral or positive tone). If he wins, I have to do the same for Curtis Martin. (You can see the challenge here.)
Get it?
Great! You can read the how-to guide by clicking that link over there, and the rules are both on that page and... well, right here.
Rules
- Gambling is strictly forbidden.
- Terms of challenges may not involve money or other forms of payment.
- Terms of challenges may not involve any act which is illegal in the challenger's jurisdiction.
- The challenged party must reject any challenges that involve any act which is illegal in that user's jurisdiction.
- This service may be discontinued at any time, without notice, and is provided as-is.
- By using this service, you agree to it and this site's Terms of Service, which are fully incorporated herein.
We've also created a little challenge feature request page over here, and will be posting up new features that we're already working on. Feel free to leave feedback generally here, but if you want a specific add-on, that's a better place to do it.
We're sure you have questions, so please read the how-to guide to be sure it's not answered there first.
Throughout the day, we'll be sending challenges to others in the community, and I urge you to do the same.
Good luck, have fun, and may the best challenger win!
