Yes, I know that the season is still early. 162 games is a long haul, and a good start does not make a champion. In fact, the year the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won the World Series, they began horribly.
This year's Angels have 6 players remaining from that championship team, yet this team has a lot of similarities to that team in 2002. It carries a mixture of Rookie talent and talented veterans.
The pitching is top notch - but what else is new? Colon will be rejoining the team soon, as will be Jered Weaver, but without them the team is 6-3 after winning against the Cleveland Indians, tonight. Small ball, long ball, and precise pitching all contributed.
And all of this without Colon, Weaver, or Chone Figgins.
Yes, it's early, and perhaps I am jumping the gun, but I think that Sports Illustrated is finally right for once, and the Angels of Anaheim are going all the way.
