Angels got worse during the offseason

Is it just me, or are the Angels worse than they were last year? General manager Bill Stoneman promised a big bat and yet that has not happened (unless Gary Matthews Jr. is considered a "power hitter").

Aside from Matthews Jr., the only other decent player that they acquired was Shea Hillenbrand, who is as far as I am concerned "damaged goods".

If anyone has any reason to believe that the Angels will do good next year, please comment.

They didn't get worse. They added some bullpen help, Justin Speir and Darren Oliver. Also they have young players who are more experienced, Mike Napoli and Howie Kendrick.

Be positive, the division as a whole didn't do themselves any favors. The 89 wins the Angels had in '06 will probably win the division this year.

I don't see how they got worse. Matthews shouldn't be making the kind of money he is, but if he has another year like the last, that makes the Angels better right?
