Angelo Coia (Angelo Anthony Coia) was born on April 21, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Northeast (Philadelphia, PA), Coia attended The Citadel and the University of Southern California. Coia made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears, Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1964 was Angelo Coia's best year, as he had 500 receiving yards and caught 5 TD passes.
