Andy Salata (Andrew J. Salata) was born on September 30, 1905. After going to high school at Wyoming Seminary (Kingston, PA), Salata attended the University of Pittsburgh. Salata made his professional debut in the NFL in 1929 with the Orange Tornadoes. He played for the Newark Tornadoes and Orange Tornadoes over the course of his 2 year career.
