Andy Russell (Charles Andrew Russell) was born on October 29, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. After going to high school at Ladue (MO), Russell attended the University of Missouri. Russell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1963 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 12 year career.

Most people believe that 1973 was Andy Russell's best year, as he picked off 3 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
