Born on October 25, 1956 in West Palm Beach, Florida, Andy McGaffigan (Andrew Joseph McGaffigan) played for the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 11 year career. McGaffigan broke into the bigs on September 22, 1981 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.29 ERA in 134.1 innings pitched in 1983, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Andy McGaffigan's best season was 1987, when he posted a 2.39 ERA, notched 12 saves and struck out 100 batters.
