Andy Maurer (Andrew Lee Maurer) was born on September 30, 1948 in Silverton, Oregon. After going to high school at Prospect (OR), Maurer attended the University of Oregon. Maurer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the Atlanta Falcons. He played for the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 8 year career.
