Andy High (Andrew Aird High) was born on November 21, 1897 in Ava, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1922 for the Brooklyn Robins. In 1922, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 6 home runs and 65 RBI. High played for the Brooklyn Robins, Boston Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 13 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Andy High's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1929, when he hit for a .295 average and knocked in 63 runs. However, others believe that it was 1924, when he hit for a .328 average and knocked in 61 runs.
