Andy Farkas (Andrew G. Farkas) was born on May 2, 1916 in Clay Center, Ohio. After going to high school at Catholic (Toledo) and University (Detroit, MI), Farkas attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Farkas made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1939 was Andy Farkas's best year, as he ran for 547 yards, ran in 5 TDs, caught 5 TD passes and ran back a kickoff for a touchdown.
