Andre Thornton (Andre Thornton) was born on August 13, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on July 28, 1973 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1974, his rookie year, he hit .261 with 10 home runs and 46 RBI. Thornton played for the Chicago Cubs, Montreal Expos and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 14 year career.

Most people believe that Andre Thornton's best season was 1982, when he slugged 32 home runs and knocked in 116 runs.
