Andrae Thurman (Andrae Thurman) was born on October 25, 1980 in Avondale, Arizona. After going to high school at Westview (Avondale, AZ), Thurman attended Southern Oregon University and the University of Arizona. Thurman made his professional debut in the NFL in 2004 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 2 year career.
Most people believe that 2004 was Andrae Thurman's best year.
Acquired
The Blue Bombers signed Thurmon as a free agent in May 2006.
Thurmon appeared in 10 games for the Green Bay Packers in 2005, including one start versus the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. He hauled in seven catches for 92 yards in ’05, including a long of 33 yards. On special teams, he had 10 kick returns for 178 yards and nine punt returns for 31 yards. Thurman began the season with the Tennessee Titans. He played in five games with the Titans and was a regular on special teams.
Thurmon played in the Green Bay Packers final two regular season games, including his pro debut versus the Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 24. He caught two passes for 12 yards and added three kick returns for 59 yards. Thurmon also saw action as both a receiver and return man in the Pack’s NFC Wild Card playoff game versus the Vikings.
College
Thurmon began his collegiate football career at the University of Arizona, where he played three seasons (2000-02) for the Wildcats. He caught 105 passes for 1,530 yards at Arizona. He then transferred to Southern Oregon University for the ’03 season, where he started eight games and led the Raiders with 55 receptions for 845 yards and four touchdowns.
Personal
Thurman’s nickname is ‘Dre. His given name is D’Andrae Carnell Thurman. His hobbies include basketball, billiards and dominoes. His younger brother, Marcus, was an outstanding college cornerback.
