And That's News To Me: Jacobs Traded for Rumph

The Redskins and 49'ers have been busy today. The Washington Redskins traded receiver Taylor Jacobs to the San Francisco 49ers for defensive back Mike Rumph on Monday, a swap of oft-injured former college standouts.
With offseason additions that include Brandon Lloyd and Super Bowl hero Antwaan Randle El, Taylor Jacobs was seemingly the odd-man out among Redskins receivers.
I say this is a good trade for both teams involved. Washington gets a boost for a pass defense that ranked 11th overall last season. Likewise, San Fran adds a speedy, downfield threat to a passing offense that ranked dead last in the NFL last season.
Mike Rumph will certainly benefit from playing alongside Sean Taylor. On the flip side, Alex Smith benefits from having two speedy receivers in first-round draft pick Vernon Davis and the newly-acquired Taylor Jacobs. At the very least, the trade adds a much needed boost to Jacobs' fantasy stock.
