CAREER NOTES: 2007 team captain • has appeared in 35 games and started the last 10 • has rushed 356 times for a total of 1,876 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career • leads all active players with 2,014 career all-purpose yards • 11th player in school history to run for 1,000 yards in a season • ranks 14th all-time in career rushing yardage entering the season with 1,876 yards • ranked fourth in the Big Ten in rushing yards as a junior with 1,272 yards • owns six career 100-yard rushing games which ranks 13th all-time entering the 2007 season.

2006 • JUNIOR SEASON: Became the 11th player in school history to record a 1,000-yard rushing season • helped Minnesota continue a streak of eight consecutive seasons with a 1,000-yard rusher, one of only two teams in Big Ten history to accomplish that feat • ran for 1,272 yards and 10 touchdowns • ranked fourth in the Big Ten in rushing with an average of 97.8 yards per game • ranked sixth in the Big Ten in rushing touchdowns and seventh in all-purpose yardage (108.5 ypg) • his 252 carries ranks sixth all-time at Minnesota while the 1,272 yards sits eighth all-time • averaged 5.0 yards per carry • also snagged 16 passes for 138 yards • Game-by-Game: rushed 15 times for 114 yards and one touchdown in the season opener at Kent State (8/31) • carried five times for 17 yards at Cal (9/9) • averaged 11.7 yards on seven carries against Temple (9/16) • made the first start of his career at Purdue (9/23) • had 173 yards on 28 carries against the Boilermakers • also recorded the first three receptions of his career • rushed 20 times for 91 yards against Michigan (9/30), which entered the game allowing just 18.5 yards rushing per game • surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for his career in the first quarter against the Wolverines, becoming the 38th player in school history to accomplish that feat • had the first multiple rushing touchdown game of his career vs. the Nittany Lions • rushed 19 times for 97 yards and one TD at Wisconsin (10/14) • carried 25 times for 97 yards and had the game-winning touchdown against NDSU (10/21) • rushed 14 times for 46 yards at Ohio State (10/28) • carried 13 times for 68 yards and one touchdown against Indiana (11/4) • had 113 yards on 23 carries at Michigan State (11/11) • rushed 23 times for 119 yards and two TDs against Iowa (11/18) • reached the 1,000-yard plateau for the season in the first quarter against the Hawkeyes • rushed 34 times for 179 yards in the Insight Bowl against Texas Tech (12/29) • bowl rushing performance was the third-best in school history • had a season-long 40-yard rush in the second quarter against the Red Raiders • participated in 620 plays • earned third letter.

2005 • SOPHOMORE SEASON: Appeared in 10 games, finishing with 78 carries for 467 yards and one touchdown • earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors following his performance against Michigan State (11/12) • joined teammates Laurence Maroney and Gary Russell as Big Ten Player of the Week recipients, making Minnesota the first school in Big Ten history to have three different running backs earn the award in the same season • Game-by-Game: rushed 11 times for 46 yards at Tulsa (9/1) • carried 14 times for 65 yards against Colorado State (9/10) • ran for 83 yards on 15 carries vs. Florida Atlantic (9/17) • carried the ball twice for 48 yards vs. Indiana (11/5) • 45-yard rush against the Hoosiers was a career-long • had a career-day against Michigan State (11/12), rushing 32 times for 206 yards and one touchdown, his first of the season, against the Spartans • was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Michigan State • had four carries for 19 yards against Iowa (11/19) • participated in 133 plays • earned second letter.

2004 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Played in all 12 games • tallied 137 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns with a long rush of 21 yards • also had three kick returns for 49 yards • Game-by-Game: had career highs in carries and yards against Toledo (9/4) when he rushed for 88 yards on 17 attempts and scored his first career touchdown on a three-yard run • also had two kick returns for 33 yards with a career long of 17 against the Rockets • totaled 21 yards on two carries at Colorado State (9/18) • had one carry for one yard against Northwestern (9/25) • had one kick return for 16 yards at Michigan State (10/16) • had six attempts for 27 yards with a one-yard touchdown run vs. Illinois (10/23) • participated in 178 plays • earned first letter.

2003: Redshirted • scholar-athlete award winner.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of Malcolm X Shabazz High School • high school coach was David McCombs • ranked the 20th-best fullback by ESPN’s Tom Lemming • three-time all-city, all-conference and all-area performer • named all-county twice and all-state once • rushed for 3,500 yards and 39 touchdowns in his career • tallied 1,200 yards with 15 touchdowns in 11 games his senior season • gained 1,100 yards and scored 12 touchdowns during his junior season • accumulated 75 of his 160 career tackles in 2002 playing free safety • had 12 tackles-for-loss and four sacks his senior season • forced two fumbles, recovered two and intercepted three passes in 2002 • earned 11 letters between football, basketball and track • Honor Roll student and member of the National Honor Society.
