Amby McConnell (Ambrose Moses McConnell) was born on April 29, 1883 in North Powell, Vermont. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1908 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1908, his rookie year, he hit .279 with 2 home runs and 43 RBI. McConnell played for the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that Amby McConnell's best season was 1908, when he stole 31 bases and hit for a .279 average.
