Almost Doesn't Count!

The New York Mets are lost, and nobody can found them. They ran out of gas, toward the end.

The Mets was winning, but fell hard. "Late Game Horror" two games straight. This team is slumping. They pick the wrong time, because they can lose the National League East division lead. Even worse, miss the post-season.

Losing to the Washington Nationals 9-8, sucks for the Mets. The Phillies are playing; many believe they can win the east.

In the first inning, Luis Castillo score off David Wright double. Carlos Beltran singled, and Wright scored. Paul Lo Duca hit a sacrifice fly, Beltran scored. Endy Chavez singled to center, and Moises Alou scored.

The Mets went up 4-0, in the first.

Bottom of the second, Austin Kearns homered to deep left. The Nationals were down, 4-1.

Sean Green homered to deep center, in the third inning, 5-1 score. Green had the best performance, finishing 3-4.

Felipe Lopez hit a sacrifice fly, and Nook Logan scored. They were down in the third, 5-2.

In the fourth, Brian Schneider singled to right. Ronnie Belliard scored, still down 5-3.

Top of the fifth, Lo Duca doubled to left. Lasting Milledge came home, and the score was 6-3. Chavez singled to center, and Lo Duca scored. The Mets finish the inning, 7-3.

In the same inning, the Nationals caught on fire. Wily Mo Pena singled to center, and Logan scored. Kearns singled to right, and Lopez scored. Billiard homered to left, Kearns and Pena scored. The Nationals had the lead, 8-7.

Bottom of the Sixth, D'Angelo Jimenez homered to left. The Nationals were up, 9-7.

The Mets tried, but didn't work. In the ninth, Jeff Conine singled to center, Green scored.

The game was over, Nationals got away again.

Mets pitcher John Maine was horrible. He allowed 11 hits, 8 runs in 4 innings. Maine is 14-10 on the season.

Starting pitching, and bullpen help is the problem. Because late in the game, the Mets "killed" themselves.

(Quote From SNY.)"We're in the thick of a race now. It's no longer ... we can win a handful of games, and it's over." said Sean Green. This team should play like it's a race. Their playing like they already won it. The Phillies want this division, and their coming for it. The Mets need to leave this slump, because it's troubling for them. (Quote From SNY)"We have a couple of options -- play below our normal level or play the kind of baseball we played to get here." said David Wright. This team isn't playing like none. And both are nowhere to be found.

This needs to stop, because it could be over. (Quote From SNY) Randolph said "We've got to find a way to turn it around," and he promised, "we will." Something needs to happen, and the errors need to stop. Over 10 errors in the last three games. Nothing is happening right, because the field is breaking down.

Every time the Mets play the Phillies, something bad happens. This is the second time.
