Born on October 31, 1904 in Peoria, Illinois, Allyn Stout (Allyn McClelland Stout) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants and Boston Braves over the course of his 6 year career. Stout broke into the bigs on May 16, 1931 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 4.21 ERA in 72.2 innings pitched in 1931, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Allyn Stout's best season was 1931, when he posted a 4.21 ERA.
