Born on April 27, 1893 in Bradford, Ohio, Allen Sothoron (Allan Sutton Sothoron) played for the St. Louis Browns, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 11 year career. Sothoron broke into the bigs on September 17, 1914 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 2.83 ERA in 276.2 innings pitched in 1917, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Allen Sothoron's best season was 1919, when he posted a 2.20 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 106 batters.
