Born on July 31, 1893 in Baltimore, Maryland, Allen Russell (Allen Russell) played for the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Washington Senators over the course of his 11 year career. Russell broke into the bigs on September 13, 1915 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 3.20 ERA in 171.1 innings pitched in 1916, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Allen Russell's best season was 1919, when he posted a 2.93 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 113 batters.
