All-Time District of Columbia Baseball Team

by user Chachi

I know it isn't a state, but it's listed as a separate place of birth on Baseball-Reference.com and it actually contained atleast one player at every position (unlike some states) so I'm throwing them in here. However, most of the players born in D.C. were either not very good or only played in the majors for a few games. Hard to really put together an "All-Time" team with these guys. I did notice though that the players born in D.C generally had one thing in common, strange or obscure names. So, for the District of Columbia I decided to put together an All-Time Name team. All of these guys really played the position they are listed at and all are listed on Baseball-Reference.com under these names. If we ever put together a bracketed tournament facing off all of these teams, the D.C team will definitely get slaughtered in round one.

I'm trying to figure out how Maury Wills gets left off that team... Also, I'd use Brendan Donnelly as my closer... Klippstein was too erratic.

He put together an All-Time Name team for D.C. because there was a shortage of very good players...

I know... but the double play combo of maury to bump (or wills to wills) would have been cool.
