Alf Anderson (Alfred Walton Anderson) was born on January 28, 1914 in Gainesville, Georgia. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 1941 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1941, his rookie year, he hit .215 with 1 home run and 10 RBI. Anderson played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 2 year career.
