Born on July 5, 1896 in Mart, Texas, Buck Freeman (Alexander Vernon Freeman) played for the Chicago Cubs for his entire 2 year career. Freeman broke into the bigs on April 13, 1921 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.11 ERA in 177.1 innings pitched in 1921, his rookie year.
