[edit] Biography

Born on August 18, 1971 in Mesa, Arizona, Albie Lopez (Albert Anthony Lopez) played for the Cleveland Indians, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 11 year career. Lopez broke into the bigs on July 6, 1993 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 6.39 ERA in 62 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Albie Lopez's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2000, when he posted a 4.13 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 96 batters. However, others believe that it was 1998, when he posted a 2.60 ERA and struck out 62 batters.
